Pit Bull Attacks our Family Dog
I know a lot of people out there try to defend the Pit Bull dog breed, but sooner or later they will realize the injustice they are performing on society. I am not going out of my way to hate on this bread of animal, just telling a story the public should know. I would be posting this weather it was a Cocker Spaniel or a Golden Retriever.
Kendra was out walking two of our three dogs on Wednesday when out of the blue a male Pit Bull came up and locked its bite onto our dogs neck. After locking on, the Pit shook and jerked violently. Our dog was left to yep and yell as neighbors were hard to be found. Kendra soon found herself getting into the middle of a dog fight in an attempt to remove the Pit Bull from out dogs neck. luckily after some shoe persuasion the dog laid down but would not release our dog. After a bit more persuasion the Pit Bull finally released and ran off with its female Pit Bull companion.
Soon after the incident, we took our injured dog to the vet to have its bight wounds doctored up. She is recovering fine now and thank God the Pit Bull did not attack Kendra.
Just a bit of information for all of those people thinking it would be cute to have a Pit Bull as a pet… Think again.

What is “pit bull bread”? A kind of dog biscuit?
I own and have met very many pit bulls. Every single one was very friendly.
The dog park by our house usually has a pit bull socializing very well with other dogs. I have seen 7 pit bulls in there at one time coexisting peacefully with all the other breeds.
My pit bull has been bitten by three dogs of the “toy breed” type. He never retaliated or tried to establish his dominance over the little fluff balls.
I have raised a cocker spaniel, border collie, lhasa apso, miniature pinscher and a sheep dog mix. My pit bull and the sheep dog mix had the best tempermants of the bunch.
Every dog can be trained incorrectly resulting in human or animal agression. The strength, agility and drive of the pit bull unfortunately appeals to many people who have no business owning a dog.
Unfortunately your experience with one animal was definitely an unpleasant one. Your experience does not make you any more knowledgable about the breed. I doubt you even know what a real american pit bull terrier looks like. Because of media hype you think any dog who fits some vague description qualifies as a “pit bull”.
What ever happened to the days when the pit bull was America’s favorite breed? When the little rascals and their pal Petey(a purebred pit bull) could exist without ignorant people trying to stone a friendly dog. When the most decorated dog of World War I was a pitbull named Pete. America’s most cherished breed is now labeled as public enemy no. 1.

Some pits tend to be aggressive to other animals if not socialized properly. However, they are extremely nice to human beings. I owned 13 of them over a period of 4 years and was never shown aggression by any of them. My kids play w/ my pits all the time. I was bitten 5 times by my own dogs (2X by my chow-chow and 1X by my chihuahua, 2X by GSD mix and never by my pits.

OK, first of all let me start buy saying i’m very sorry to hear about your dog and i hope she/he is ok. I have 2 pitbulls and 2 miniature pinchers. My pitbulls are 11 and 8 and have been with us since birth. I’m so tired of people who DO NOT own a pitbull thinking they know the breed and their temperament. My pits are wonderful and have NEVER attacked any person or any other dog. If have 2 children who have bitten, hit and ridin both my pits when they were smaller and my pits NEVER even growled at my kids. They are actually very loyal and good family dogs……IF TREATED RIGHT. I stress treated right because that is the reason pitbulls have a bad reputation. Alot of people buy pits to fight and treat them horrible to make them mean. I have witnessed this years ago. Comin Sence, if you beat, lock in a cage and train ANY dog to attack……eventually it will. My 2 min pins are more vicious than my pits. Also, when i brought home my two min pins, my pits were in love with them. My female pit immediatly started to mother them and my male pit(who is 80lbs.) played very gentle with my 3lb. min pins. My female pit lets my female min pin stimulate her for milk and feed on her. Now here’s the craziest part of my story…………………………………… My female pit is due March 10th with my male min pins pups. I was actually on the web trying to find anything on the mix and came across this story. I decided to comment because i am soooooooooooooooooo tired of the things people have to say about pits, especially when they have never owned one and if they have and had a bad experience, then there is no doubt in my mind, it is because they abused it. Like i said, if you abuse ANY breed, it will eventually attack. I would recommend a pit to anyone who wants a good and loyal family dog. A little advise on purchasing a pit. Try to find a breeder who has both parents on site, observe the parents temperament and don’t purchase from a breeder who seems suspicious of what i call “cruelty to pits”. You may end up getting a pit that somewhere along the line there was some inbreeding and you don’t want that. Oh yeah, i forgot to tell you all, pits are VERY intelligent also and listen very well. I could tell you the stories but i would be here for a week. Again, i am very sorry about your dog and hope all is well with it. Good luck to you.

all i gotta say is dont judge them harshley based on a bad encounter with a mistreated dog, i fuckin hate people that think pitbulls should be banned or exterminated i would have to be killed before anyone would try and harm my dog, if u give a pitbull love then u’ll recieve love.

It amazes me how the people who have responded to this post tell a lot about their thought process by the way they punctuate their posting.
Those who can write in complete sentences make great points and have a good thought process. These people have posted for and against Pit Bulls and have done a good job conveying their side of the story.
Those who did not write in complete sentences, or use basic punctuation for that matter, show their slanted view on life and sound a bit on the dumb side of things. So if you really like pits, that is fine. If you want to tell the world the way you feel, you might try to tell them in a language that they can understand.
If this is a case where you were a child left behind because of the system, please allow me to be the first to apologize for not giving you a quality education. If you would like some help go to your local library. All libraries have literacy classes to help people of all ages learn to read and write.
Thanks

It is not that a pit attacks…. it is how a pit attacks. Sure there might be other dogs out there that have higher stats when it comes to number of bites or attacks, but when you look at how they attack it is a different story. By the way, labs are not trained or used in dog fights because they are a calm dog. Pits are used for dog fighting because the have the instinct to kill. We didn’t see a bunch of Labradors retrievers on the news at Michael Vic’s house now did we?
If you are one of the people who post here and can’t read or write in complete sentences or words for that matter, I feel sorry for you. Life is going to be an up hill challenge for you.
Thanks for your time.

That is a case of owners not taking care of there dogs. People are so eagar to point there fingers at pit bulls because they think they are mean and bite. Here is a simple fact ALL dogs bite. It is the owners fault why dogs go bad, it is up to the owner how there dogs turn out. I have had pit bulls all my life and I would never choose a different breed. Pit bulls have been served injustice because of there reputation is it there fault there owners do not take proper care of them. That was a horrible event when your dog was attached but the pitbull breed is not to blame, its the owner.

I just bought a house where my neighbors have 1
male “blockhead” pit bull, a female and 3
puppies. They put up a privacy fence but left
16ft open. I have a chain link fence on my side.
The 1st day I moved in, this pit bull came out
of no where and started trying to bite thru the
chain link fence to myself and boyfriend. So I
purchased 2 8′ sections of privacy fence and
installed on my side of the chain link fence.
Then 4 weeks later, I was in my back yard with
my dog, and this pit again come at the fence
where there was about 4 inches of an opening by a tree
and try biting thru the fence again. This time
we talked with the neighbors and asked if they
would please do something … it is not fair
that I do not feel safe in my own backyard. Then
Sat, June 28, 2008, my boyfriend went to let my
dog out do her business (about 9:30am) and this
pit bull was in MY backyard. Luckly he did not
attack my dog, we were able to get my dog in the
house, I had to call the police. This dog chewed
thru the chain link fence and then thru my wooded
privacy fence!!! The police could not do anyting
Animal Control came out Monday June 30, and said
they really could not do anything until this dog
hurts someone!!!!!! I am at the end of my rope
I live in the City of Cayce SC and there are NO
restrictions on these types of dogs. I am not
against Pit Bulls, but this one really scares
me, the owner even told me if he acts aggresive
towards me just spray the water hose at him and
he will run! They have small kids and they do not
even let them go in the back yard with these dogs.
So I guess when I go outside I am to walk witha
water hose since no one will help until this dog
truly hurts someone!!

pitbulls have a bad rep, but they’re not a killer dog everyone makes them out to be… so just cuz one pit attacked your family dosen’t make all pitbulls bad, you need to educate your self about the breed and not go by what you hear on the news, that’s racial profiling…

ive personally owned a
varity of differnent pit bulls and other dogs as wee im sorry to hear about the about the accident but to blame the breed of dog is just plain ignorant people portay these dogs to be monsters but its not the breed thats the problem its the idiots that think having a big mean pitbull is going to make them look cool so they get one and train the dog to be mean .i currently have a red nose pit right now and this is the truth he is the nicest dog ive ever had but when i walk him through town people that only know what theve heard are terrified of him the thing is the newss tells people about all the bad things that happen but rarely hear about the good you hardly hear about a pit bulls saving someones life or any other dog at that because nobody wants to hear about that they want to hear about all the bad stuff so thats what they put on our tvs

Pitbulls cannot lock jaw. Its a myth and shows how much this person knows about the breed or should i say “BREAD” wtf. I really dont know why people try so hard to hate pitbulls. The real killer is the owner.

Any dog can be aggressive. Having said that, I must reluctantly agree that the pit bull has been bred for aggression by unscrupulous breeders. I would not have a pit bull myself. Now before you get onto me, realize it that my family and I have spent many Saturdays walking pit bulls at the shelter, helping take care of other people’s responsibilities.
